8a - Solving the Problem

Opportunity: College students in the United States still need to or prefer print. Printing is not always easy because printers’ students own don’t always work or they don’t own one. Also, school library printing has its limits and is not always reliable.

A product that could help solve this problem would be a print finder app. An app that can locate people with printers that are willing to share. Many college students live in an apartment or dorm. There would most likely be some people with printers and possibly printer owners who are willing to share. The incentive for people to let others use their printer is money. Many college students venmo each other. A print finder app would work similar to venmo. If a user of the app finds another user with an available printer, they can message them and send them a transaction of the cost to print. This will benefit the purchaser because they will not have to struggle to find away to print. It will also benefit the person with the printer because they can make money off their printer. The money can help them lower the cost of their next ink or paper purchase.

  1. I think this is a great idea! I have been in a situation where I forgot to print my resume for an interview in the morning and the school printer was closed and I did not have any paper for the printer at my apartment. I ended up printing the resume at my friend's apartment, but it would have been much more convenient to use an app that located someone closer to me that had a printer I could use.

  2. Hey Tyler,

I think this is an excellent idea. Many people print documents at the last minute and it can be very stressful to try and find a printer. This app would be a good way for students to efficiently find a reliable printer, as well as offer students a source of income. I would definitely utilize this app and I know a lot of my peers would as well.
